Building an Inclusive & Sustainable Supply Chain for Responsibly Produced, High-Quality Vegetables (ISCHV) Project

Objective

To enable farmers in Bangladesh to sustainably increase the profitability of growing vegetables through responsible production, reduced post-harvest loss and ensured food safety as well as better prices in shorter supply chains connected to more remunerative markets.

  • 5,000 farmers (50% women) have doubled their income from vegetables production

  • 5,000 farmers (50% women) organised for more efficient crop programming, input and services supply, and bargaining power

  • 1,000 vegetables producers (50% women) are GlobalGAP certified

  • 62 permanent, formal jobs have been created (30% women)

  • Supply chain delivering food safe vegetables to formal buyers
